Where I Eat in Tulum

For me, dining in Tulum is never just about the quality of the ingredients—it’s about the atmosphere, the energy, and the way the team make you feel while you’re in their presence.

These are the places I enjoy most:

Mezzanine

Perched right on the water, Mezzanine is my go-to for Thai dishes. The restaurant is part of a boutique hotel. The food is fresh, bold, and full of flavor—but what makes it unforgettable is catching the last light of the sun while you eat overlooking the ocean.

Arca

Dinner at Arca is a jungle E.X.P.E.R.I.E.N.C.E. It’s a food journey where each dish feels like an actual piece of art. Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side, but the creativity and attention to detail make it worth every peso. Take your time here, enjoy. I usually get the servers to build my menu by surprising me with the chef’s seasonal recommendations. This is a great spot to celebrate love, dine family style with friends and really soak in the true essence of Tulum.

Rossina Café Aldea Zama

The best breakfast in Aldea Zama, hands down. Rossina’s is all about fresh, delicious plates in a cozy space, but the real secret ingredient is Fernanda, the owner. She’s always there, always smiling, and makes everyone feel like a her bestie. You can tell she really pours her heart into what she does and all the staff absolutely LOVE being part of her team. I see the same faces year after year which puts a smile on my face. You can sit here all morning and people watch, or bump into friends you met at the beach. It really is that central meeting spot in the morning in Aldea!

Kokoro

This sushi spot is tucked away in the trees, Kokoro feels like a hidden treasure. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time under the canopy. The menu is a fun and playful take on Japanese cuisine, the Kokoro shrimp is a must-try!

Hartwood

An institution. They have been here since the inception of Tulum and it is very difficult to score a table!! Everything here is cooked over an open fire, the menu is refreshingly simple, and the flavors are consistently 10/10. No frills, just pure quality. Another place that is totally worth the price tag. Make sure you book far in advance.

Canova

In Aldea Zama, if you don’t want to travel too far…Canova serves comforting & well-done Italian food. It’s the kind of place you go when you’re craving pasta with a glass of wine and good conversation.

Asian Bodega

Asian Bodega is more than a restaurant—it’s a VIBE. Colorful, lively, and full of flavor, it’s where food meets atmosphere in the most fun way. The owners, Julio & Hunter, are so so fun! The menu is an eccentric take on asian cuisine. You might be lucky and be there when the karaoke machine comes out!

Raum

A place where food, music, art and design blend seamlessly. An art gallery that serves up incredible breakfast, traditional matcha and if you decide to go for their funky dinner hour – you’ll enjoy some comforting ramen as you are surrounded by eye candy!

The OG

Rooted in the flavors of Mexico’s heritage, the menu celebrates time-honored dishes prepared with authenticity and care. The setting is warm and earthy. It’s an enchanting place to slow down and share traditional mayan style dishes.

Taqueria Honorio

The kind of taco joint that makes you feel like you’ve truly arrived to Mexico!
